Scientists soon may be spinning over frozen Arctic or Antarctic wastes with all the speed and comfort motorists now zoom over highways, it was revealed today. The Armour Institute was exhibiting a scale model of a vehicle called a "snow cruiser," equipped with balloon tires and resembling a streamlined automobile. The cruiser, invented by Dr. Thomas C. Poulter of the institute, will he built at a cost of $150,000, will be 55 feet 1ong and will be able to carry four men, a small airplane and a year’s supply of food and fuel. Present plans call for completion of the cruiser in time for use by the United States Antarctic Expedition scheduled to start in October |
