Cruiser Due At 10 A. M. Monday
Byrd Expedition's Novel Vehicle to Use U. S. Road 6

The Byrd antarctic expedition's huge snow cruiser is due to reach LaPorte county, on its trip eastward, at 10 o'clock Monday morning, according to word from the district office of the state highway commission today.

The office has been informed by officials of the expedition that the cruiser will leave Chicago at 7 a. m. and will travel through Indiana on U. S. Road 6 as far as U. S. Road 31 where it will head southward to U. S. Road 30 and thence to Fort Wayne for Monday night.

State highway officials and state police will block U. S. Road 6 while the cruiser makes its way across the county. It is almost 20 feet wide and will occupy the entire width of the highway as it moves along. It will enter this county on U. S. Road 6 west of Westville.

Motorists who intend to drive to U. S. Road 6 to see the cruiser are reminded that the highway will be blocked to traffic and that the only vantage points will be at intersections with other highways. U. S. Road 6 just south of Kingsbury is the nearest vantage point for LaPorteans.

The cruiser is being driven to Boston where it will be placed on shipboard for the journey to Antarctica.
